eSoft Announces Lawsuit Against RuleSpace for Misappropriation of Intellectual Property

February 2010 by Marc Jacob

eSoft™, Inc.announced it has filed a lawsuit in the District Court for the City and County of Broomfield, Colorado against RuleSpace, LLC, a Beaverton, Oregon, web filtering company, for misappropriation of eSoft’s intellectual property.

The lawsuit alleges that RuleSpace stole intellectual property associated with eSoft’s proprietary and industry-leading SiteFilter® database and categorisation technology. eSoft’s proprietary SiteFilter technology offers eSoft’s OEM partners and customers numerous critical advantages in the areas of active web coverage, accuracy, security and real-time website categorisation and identification of malicious websites.

eSoft alleges in its Complaint that RuleSpace secretly gained access to the SiteFilter technology, including eSoft’s confidential SiteFilter database and eSoft’s proprietary methods for real-time website categorisation.
