Webroot Announces Strategic Partnership with Mitsui Bussan Secure Direction

Webroot announced a strategic partnership with Mitsui Bussan Secure Direction (MBSD), a provider of Internet security and IT management services and solutions. The partnership offers MBSD managed security services a highly distributed and highly cooperative learning system to deliver smarter cybersecurity solutions to Japan.
Cloud-based Webroot SecureAnywhere® Business Endpoint Protection and Webroot BrightCloud® Threat Intelligence Services have always had strong support from the managed security service provider (MSSP) community because partners know they can offer their customers better protection and performance and also increase operating margins by reducing the complexities associated with managing a traditional security solution. MSSPs accustomed to managing on-premise security solutions are moving to the cloud. Market researcher Infonetics predicts that cloud-based security service revenue will expand at a 10.8 percent compound annual growth rate through 2017 and projects that the market will reach $9.2 billon.
MBSD’s managed security services currently includes Internet detection system (IDS), intrusion prevent system (IPS), and web application firewall (WAF) services. Additionally, MBSD customers have access to a designated computer security incident response team (CSIRT), the efforts of which are based on security information and event management (SIEM) technology. The Webroot® big data analytics and automated machine learning compliments these offering to rapidly identify potentially dangerous incoming or outbound traffic, minimizing the window of opportunity for attackers.
