SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY
An attacker can send a malicious Layer 2 packet to Cisco Nexus
9000, in order to trigger a denial of service.
Impacted products: Cisco Nexus, NX-OS.
Severity: 1/4.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY
The Cisco Nexus 9000 product has a service to manage received
Layer 2 packets.
However, when a packet with a malicious VLAN number is received, a
fatal error occurs.
An attacker can therefore send a malicious Layer 2 packet to Cisco
Nexus 9000, in order to trigger a denial of service.
