UK2 Group Boosts Customers’ Websites with CloudFlare

July 2015 by Marc Jacob

Global hosting company, UK2 Group, has teamed-up with leading web performance and security company, CloudFlare, to extend customers’ infrastructures directly to the network edge for faster website content delivery, improved optimization and deeper security.

UK2 Group’s Midphase, WestHost, VPS.net and UK2.net customers deploying CloudFlare will benefit from websites which, on average, load twice as fast and use 65 percent less bandwidth. They will also be better protected from DDoS attacks, email harvesting and other online threats. Intelligence from an attack against one site is extended to protect the entire CloudFlare community within seconds.

CloudFlare can boost performance and security of any type of website with no need to add hardware or install software. It is particularly effective for sites that regularly experience spikes in traffic, have an e-commerce platform, or a history of security breaches and a risk of being targeted by DDoS attacks.

More than 5 percent of global internet requests flow through CloudFlare’s network each day and because its technology sits on the network edge, customers are protected from malicious traffic before it ever reaches their infrastructure.

Pricing & availability:
New UK2, Midphase and WestHost customers can add CloudFlare into their web hosting package starting today and existing customers can add the service via their control panel. UK2 Group customers will be able to select from CloudFlare’s Free plan or CloudFlare Plus, which offers advanced image optimization and SSL support and is available from £7.49 / $10.99 per month for a 12 month contract or £8.99 / $12.99 per month with no fixed term.
