Thycotic Debuts Free Privileged Account Management eLearning Course
December 2016 by Marc Jacob
Thycotic announced its
Free Privileged Password Security Training Certification course - arming individuals
with the baseline knowledge they need to better protect their network from
devastating cyberattacks at no cost to them. With privileged accounts becoming the
No. 1 target for attacks and maliciously used to extract large amounts of data from
a network undetected, this new training course is essential to those looking to
protect their privileged accounts.
The free course covers concepts such as IT layers, security hardening and defense in
depth measures. The course can typically be completed in one hour and users can
start and stop at any time. There is a private self-assessment quiz at the end that
allows users to evaluate how well they have mastered the material. Grades are shown
in private unless they decide to share it, but a passing grade on the
self-assessment earns one CPE credit that individuals can use towards maintaining
security certifications.
By taking the course, IT administrators and IT Security professionals can be armed
with the knowledge to hold intelligent conversations both with their peers as well
as their managers on improving their organization’s IT security by protecting these
critical and sensitive accounts. This information gives individuals best practices
for password security for organizations and what that means for information
assurance.
