It is the largest marine organization of its kind with a worldwide membership of over 15,000 individuals based in over 100 countries.
IMarEST mission is to work with the global marine community to promote the scientific development of marine engineering, science and technology, providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas and practices and upholding the status, standards and expertise of marine professionals worldwide
THE CHALLENGE SITUATION
IMarEST was looking for a new anti-spam solution which reduced resource overhead currently committed to their existing solution. Ronnie van de Laak: “We were spending too much time administering our existing solution and needed a robust solution which amalgamated control of all the various email management processes through a dedicated, central management interface.“
“We were looking for a supplier who understood our requirements and who would work with us to help to maintain and further improve our high security and availability standards, whilst reducing system complexity. We needed a “black box” solution which was easy to implement and maintain, and provided a more efficient spam catch rate, zero false positives and was competitively priced. We searched many technical comparative tests, among these was Virus Bulletin.”
“We chose to trial the Libra Esva Mail Gateway Solution, primarily because it was aligned with our existing, albeit fragmented solution, ran on LAMP stack and was deployed as a virtual appliance. The Libra ESVA team are very technically competent and collaborative. The appliance was installed and in operation within an hour. Within two, we had installed the cluster option for high availability, turned off the old system and never looked back!”
“Within week one of adopting the Libra Esva Email Gateway, we saw evidence of the following improvements:
– A decrease of more than 80% of the workload management
– Higher spam catch rate & Zero false positives
– Implementation of Custom Policies for security & availability.“
