Oracle Announces Availability of New Security Product: Oracle(R) Adaptive Access Manager 10g
October 2007  by Marc Jacob
Oracle announced general availability of Oracle(r) Adaptive Access Manager 10g, a new integrated offering within Oracle Identity Management and a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. A comprehensive solution designed to prevent online identity theft and fraud, Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g features a number of enhancements including: turnkey Knowledge-Based Authentication and system monitoring dashboard features, increased support for financial and retail compliance requirements, a hot-pluggable architecture and tight integration with Oracle Access Manager.

Driven by regulatory mandates such as FFIEC, PCI and HIPAA, organizations are increasingly under pressure to reduce fraud and provide higher levels of assurance of users’ identity and their usage intent. Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g helps streamline compliance by providing organizations with comprehensive, integrated authentication and fraud solutions to simplify deployment and strengthen their security through multi-factor authentication and proactive, real-time fraud prevention. A pure Web-based security offering, Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g can be deployed in Oracle and non-Oracle environments and layered with an organization’s existing authentication security architecture, such as hardware-based security tokens, smart cards and PKI authentication schemes.

Enhancements to Benefit More than 25 Million Oracle Adaptive Access Manager Users

Three months after acquiring Bharosa, Oracle successfully integrated the components of Oracle Adaptive Access Manager with the existing Oracle Identity Management products, improved the product’s usability and expanded its support for Oracle and non-Oracle environments. The latest release of Oracle Adaptive Access Manager incorporates new features into the software’s already extensive mutual authentication, strong multi-factor authentication, real-time fraud prevention and case tracking capabilities. Enhanced features include:

· Turnkey Knowledge-Based Authentication: enables organizations to automatically screen new account registrations using publicly available consumer data, simplifies implementation and improves usability through streamlined end user enrollment;

· Enhanced System Monitoring Dashboard: provides greater visibility into system performance and additional views of aggregate activity;

· Increased Financial and Retail Compliance: features enhanced support for compliance requirements including FFIEC and PCI data security standards;

· Hot-Pluggable Architecture: allows customers to more easily connect with Oracle and third-party solutions and data sources including Identity Management, Anti-Money Laundering, Single Sign-On, SSL VPN-based strong authentication systems and cross-channel out-of-band authentication systems such as IVR, SMS and email; and

· Tight Integration with Oracle Fusion Middleware: native support for Oracle Identity Management, including Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Application Server, provides richer validation of identity data and streamlined access and authentication for Oracle’s enterprise applications.
