Netwrix announces Change Reporter 4.0 for essential security and control over critical IT infrastructure

April 2013 by Marc Jacob

Netwrix has announced the latest release of its flagship solution Change Reporter 4.0 that monitors, audits and reports exactly who made what change, when they made it and where, across an entire IT infrastructure. With a host of new features including video reporting of user activity and support for Windows Server, Change Reporter Suite 4.0 provides an automated and cost-effective solution to sustain regulatory compliance, increase security and avoid downtime. And its change rollback capabilities mean malicious, unauthorized or accidental changes can be identified and reversed from any point in time.

Netwrix Change Reporter 4.0 includes the ability to capture dynamic screen activity, providing essential auditing visibility to critical applications that are not accessible through traditional event-log-based auditing solutions and enable auditing of applications that generate no logs at all. The user activity monitoring functionality of Netwrix Change Reporter acts like a surveillance camera for IT systems by recording user activity, including changes made in Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, storage appliances, network devices, VMware and also Microsoft DNS Servers. The user activity monitoring software captures metadata that allows IT administrators to search and link to specific tasks or actions, from web browsing or opening a file to activity using management tools and applications. In particular, it can monitor the interactive and remote activity of administrators or vendors that have permissions to change critical systems and avoid conventional change and configuration logging.

Also included in Netwrix Change Reporter 4.0 are the new features for significantly enhanced security and control over Windows Servers that help analyze, report and alert on any changes made to Windows Servers - the most frequently changed resources in an IT infrastructure. An easy-to-use unified interface also integrates other Netwrix systems and platforms and provides new multi-level reporting. This ranges from consolidated high-level statistics to detailed drill-down change reports with automatic scheduling and delivery for review, auditing and compliance, including HIPAA, SOX, PCI, GLBA and FISMA. All changes can be archived and stored for seven years or longer to provide detailed audit trails for forensic analysis and investigation.

Netwrix Change Reporter 4.0 is available as of April 2nd and can be evaluated free for 20 days
