Magirus becomes first Cisco Specialty Data Centre Distributor in Europe & launches Data Centre Division

Magirus, one of Europe’s leading IT distributors has announced that it has become Cisco’s first Specialty Data Centre Distributor in Europe. In addition, the company announced the creation of a new Data Centre Division. The partnership will create new positions, will boost revenues by an additional 20% in the next 2 years and will see Magirus recruit over 300 new resellers.
Magirus will focus on Cisco’s data centre products, complementing the company’s existing portfolio of virtualisation, storage, secure networking and open source technologies and services. This will provide resellers with greater choice as well as a migration path to unified data centre technologies (which combine the aforementioned technologies). This technology will form the basis of future data centre and private cloud deployments. Also, the partnership sees investment in Magirus’ European Technology Logistics Centre in Strasbourg, the first of its kind in Europe, where resellers can stage and configure unified data centre solutions prior to shipment.
