Human recognition systems launches mobile biometric platform
June 2010 by Marc Jacob
Biometric and identity management consultancy Human Recognition Systems has launched a mobile biometric platform (MBP) – a multi-modal software solution designed to support the latest military-specification biometric devices.
The platform links mobile biometric units that link iris, face and fingerprint technology to a central database using secure wired or wireless transmission technology and can be configured to meet the needs of a wide range of scenarios.
Forensic biometric applications are also supported, allowing latent fingerprints to be captured, transmitted and instantly checked against centrally held records.
The system also allows fixed biometric identity controls to be established at control points such as military base access points, ensuring that only authorised individuals are allowed access.
The system, which has been designed in response to the specific needs of field operatives, is currently in active service with military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
