Regis Benard, Technical consultant, and Gregoire Lepoutre, Key Account Sales Manager at Vade Retro

Global Security Mag : What will you be exhibiting during Infosecurity ?

Gregoire Lepoutre and Regis Benard : We will be presenting our complete range of antispam solutions, that can adapt to every need of our large scope of clients, going from single users to Internet Service Providers :

Vade Retro Desktop : this software protects single workstations. It installs itself directly on Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail.
Vade Retro Center offers a hosted protection of the corporate messaging infrastructure.
MailCube MC² : these appliances guarantee an integrated protection of your mail servers against electronic threats.
Finally, we offer SDK development kits for web hosting companies and ISPs and supply them with our filtering engine.

GS Mag : What are your current views on the antispam market ?

Gregoire Lepoutre and Regis Benard : Up until 2006, antispam was a market that could be “conquered”. Today, we are much more in a “renewal” type of sales. Spam techniques are constantly evolving and require permanent updates. So even if a company already has an antispam solution, we have the legitimacy to offer them an alternative.

Thanks to our relationships with ISPs, Vade Retro’s technology protects more than 150 million users, which gives us a good overview and feedback on all spam techniques currently used.

At this moment, in order to be effective, an antispam must combine content filtering to a behavioural analysis, while avoiding at the same time the risk of false positives.

GS Mag : Why are you present at Infosecurity Europe ?

Gregoire Lepoutre and Regis Benard : We have customers in different countries, across Europe and around the world, but not in England. Our presence on the French pavilion of Infosecurity Europe is a way for us to test the British market. Vade Retro, by the way, is looking for value-added resellers and distributors in Great Britain, specialised in the field of IT Security.

GS Mag : What message would you like to send our readers ?

Gregoire Lepoutre and Regis Benard : We are looking for a human-sized distributor in England.
