Distil Networks opens new office in London as demand for protection against bot attacks grows

Distil Networks, Inc. announced the opening of its new London office to meet customer demand. The office will serve as a hub for international expansion and comes on the heels of the company’s recent acquisition of competing bot detection company ScrapeSentry. Distil closed 2015 as a record year, which included strong revenues, corporate growth and product innovation.

2015 Corporate Milestones

• Achieved 359 percent year-over-year revenue growth.
• Deployed its bot detection and mitigation solution across hundreds of the world’s most successful websites including StubHub, EasyJet, Yelp, Wayfair, Orbitz, Conde Nast, Glassdoor, and B&H Photo.
• Distil Networks now protects 6 of the world’s top 50 ecommerce sites, as well as 7 of the world’s top 50 travel websites.
• Doubled its workforce to over 100 employees with physical offices in San Francisco, Raleigh, Arlington, Stockholm, and London.
• Expanded executive team with industry experts including Chief Financial Officer, Matt Hibbard (Xoom, OpenTable, E&Y), and Vice President of Customer Success, Jason Hollander (OneLogin, RSA).
• Secured $21 million in Series B funding, led by Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) and welcomed BVP partner, David Cowan, to its board.
• Launched a Global Channel Partner Program and signed leading managed security service providers including Optiv, GlobalDots, and CIPHER.
• Formed the Bot Defense Council, an elite group of IT practitioners and business leaders committed to making the Web more secure. Founding members include executives from StubHub, Whitepages, TravelBrands, Manta, Glassdoor and B&H Photo.

Continued Technology Innovation and Research

• Provided customers with new insights into their website traffic including; top content where bots are concentrating their attacks; a breakdown of good bot activity from search engines like Googlebot and Bingbot; and digital ad fraud activity within each ad network or campaign.
• Awarded a five-star rating in SC Magazine’s product review within the group test review of forensic and online fraud tools.
• Uncovered that only 41 percent of web traffic originates from humans in the annual Bad Bot Landscape Report, identifying statistically significant data and insights into the bad bot landscape.
• Revealed 75 percent of publishers and 59 percent of advertisers are either unable, or unsure, about how to decipher human versus non-human traffic.
