DATA4 to partner with InterCloud
January 2017 by Marc Jacob
It has partnered with InterCloud, leader of global delivery of the cloud application. Thanks to this partnership, DATA4 is transforming all its data centers into a single virtual data center, securely connected to the worldwide cloud ecosystem, with more than 100 cloud providers and major European Internet eXchange points.
DATA4 will be relying on InterCloud’s global platform to interconnect all DATA4 data centers as well as connecting them directly to global cloud and Internet ecosystems.
By connecting all DATA4 campuses using a fully redundant Ethernet network, all data centers in the Group are united on a single secured platform similar to a single virtual data center. In addition, each data center is the largest selection of cloud providers through (100+) InterCloud global platform which will enable enterprise customers to consolidate their IT in a multi-cloud environment.
Thanks to this innovative combination, each client hosted by DATA4 can rapidly expand their private company network to the cloud solution of their choice. They can do so by connecting with a data center where the cloud resources they’ve chosen are hosted. With service-level agreements (SLA), services like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azur, Microsoft Office 365, Softlayer, Google Cloud, VCloud Air or Salesforce can be used securely within the company’s network without passing through the Internet. For example, a DATA4 client can connect their servers to their private AWS resources in London directly through an end-to-end private and secured connection. At the same time they can establish a connection to a SoftLayer bare metal server resource in Frankfurt with just a few clicks. This happens in a completely agnostic way, regardless of which DATA4 campus the client wishes to establish the connection from.
At the same time, DATA4 clients benefit from being at the centre of the Internet, thanks to direct private and secure access to large Internet eXchange peering centres such as MIX, FRANCEIX, AMSIX, DECIX, LINX, and LU-CIX.
DATA4 has strongly invested in this hyper-connected data center, where enterprises can consolidate their information services in a multi-cloud environment, where they can confidently develop a hybrid computing ecosystem, composed of proprietary applications, software packages, computing and data storage infrastructure, computerized or not, within or outside the cloud.
