CDC Joins Oak Holdings’ Strategic Team To Deliver An Intelligent Building Strategy For ’Yes!’ Project
May 2008  by Marc Jacob
CDC, the Intelligent Buildings people, has been asked to join Oak Holding’s strategic team to ensure that the new ’YES!’ project, which is largest undercover entertainment development in Europe, is a truly intelligent building. By advising on energy, convergence, security, building management and integration, CDC will ensure that the 1.2million sq ft mixed-use leisure and conference scheme on a 327-acre site in South Yorkshire looks at operational environmental issues from first principles and is an exemplary project.

CDC will be in esteemed company with the likes of Laing O’Rourke, BT and E.ON, who together are charged with meeting a tough and challenging client brief to deliver a sustainable solution to the scheme’s power, cooling and heating needs as well as providing an awe-inspiring environment for visitors.

With more than 20 years experience in designing and delivering intelligent buildings and a founding member of the Intelligent Buildings Group, CDC will provide strategic counsel on the use of IP networks to deliver complete building integration that can reduce carbon emissions, increase automation, operational efficiency and decrease building management costs.

About CDC

Founded in 1992, CDC has pioneered an integrated approach to intelligent buildings using the IP (Internet Protocol) network to create a state-of-the-art building management solution. The technology provides complete visibility of the whole estate from a single point, generating significant productivity improvements and reducing costs.

CDC’s flagship product, Integra(tm), provides an out-of-the-box software interface between building management systems and the IP infrastructure, allowing organisations to manage and monitor single or multiple building services in real-time via a single, easy-to-use management console. It can provide comprehensive audit trails and also supports the management of maintenance contractor performance. Integra has a proven track record, having been successfully deployed by some of the world’s biggest and most prestigious building projects.
