BT Joins Secerno Security Consultants Programme
June 2009 by Marc Jacob
Secerno announced BT has signed up to its Security Consultants Programme (SCP). BT is the latest company to sign up to the SCP, joining Alcatel-Lucent and other Secerno consulting partners, who are using the SCP for application security consulting and also reselling Secerno products to customers globally.
BT will be deploying Secerno DataStream™ as an element of its security QuickStart portfolio. The BT Secure Networking Quick Start Service enables organisations to assess their network security rapidly; identify weaknesses; and then take cost-effective remedial and preventative measures. The service is a unique set of tools, experience and knowledge that draws on the expertise of consultants from BT’s testing teams.
BT selected to work with Secerno in the SCP as database activity monitoring and information assurance are both growth areas for the company. With the ability to quickly and easily deploy Secerno DataStream, through the SCP, BT will be able to build a consultancy offering to assess its customer’s database security.
Secerno’s SCP allows security consultants and penetration testers to deliver comprehensive DataStream analysis services to help organisations audit the use of data effectively for compliance; as well as to understand the risk profile to their databases from external threats and internal misuse.
Secerno DataStream understands the intent of all database interactions and clearly and concisely delivers a granular view. To improve efficiency of auditing, it logs and groups database requests into clusters of similar intent, which spotlights areas for concern. Analysis can be performed in a very short period of time and conducted in a non-intrusive manner, with no impact to the system that is being audited.
