Accumuli Security, an independent specialist in IT security and risk management, has announced the acquisition of RandomStorm, an integrated information security specialist, for a net consideration of £8.9 million.
West Yorkshire-based company, RandomStorm, assists organisations to manage IT risk and implement security best practice using its own intellectual property and services. The company has developed award winning solutions for vulnerability management and network security along with security services including penetration testing, social engineering, PCI compliance and ISO audit assessments.
The acquisition forms part of Accumuli’s stated expansion strategy of acquiring businesses that complement the organisation’s existing expertise and capabilities, and extend its solutions and services framework. RandomStorm uses its own intellectual property and services to turn security data into security intelligence and as a result, the acquisition provides substantial skills, expertise and revenues, in addition to providing opportunities to further develop Accumuli’s customer intimacy strategy.
RandomStorm employs over 50 staff, mainly based in Leeds and Wetherby; all staff will be incorporated into the Accumuli organisational structure. In addition, RandomStorm’s owner managers have agreed to remain with the business for 12 months after completion to manage the transition to Accumuli, and will continue to provide sales and technical leadership to the business.
